Hope Arises Schools are accredited by the Bangladeshi government, follow the national curriculum and receive learning material from the local board of education. In addition, we take a holistic approach for the well-being of our students. Education is our core service. Proper health care, preventive health education and personal hygiene supplies helps ensure that children will not fall ill and can attend school. A healthy school snack sends the children home energized and happy.

Our mission is to empower every child with education to reach their highest personal potential. We will work tirelessly to eradicate child marriage and child labor among our students and help them and their families to break the grip of generational poverty and find fullness of joy in their lives.

Education is crucial in empowering children in rural Bangladeshi villages to pursue their dreams in all endeavors of life by equipping them with essential literacy, numeracy, problem solving and life skills, and critical thinking skills necessary for navigating the modern world. It acts as a powerful catalyst for social mobility, breaking cycles of poverty and tradition by providing access to broader opportunities beyond subsistence living. Ultimately, quality education fosters self-confidence and aspiration, enabling these children to envision and achieve success in diverse personal and professional pursuits.

Our Programs

Hope Arises Schools combines empowering education, practical life skills, personal hygiene supplies, regular heath checks, preventive heath education, cultural celebrations, Women’s Education Program and community outreach initiatives to produce joy, concrete improvement and lasting social impact in the lives of our students. The ultimate goals are to eradicate child marriages, child labor and break the grip of generational poverty.

Education for Children and Women

Hope Arises Schools is accredited by the local board of education and provides completely free elementary education according to the Bangladeshi government’s curriculum. The curriculum includes reading and writing in Bengali, English, Mathematics, natural sciences, religion and liberal arts. Critical thinking, problems solving and life skills are essential additions to basic education to assist the children to navigate the complexities of their lives.

Women’s Education Program

Educating women profoundly benefits the entire community by improving family health and nutrition , eradicating unhealthy cultural norms and gaining access to knowledge and skills vital for the well-being of the entire family. As educated mothers—often the primary health managers and educators—become fierce advocates for learning, they instill a powerful positive attitude toward schooling in their children, especially for daughters.Hope Arises Schools offer 30 women at each school basic education, biannual medical check-ups and relevant preventive heath education.

Health care and health education

Public healthcare in rural Bangladesh is severely hampered by a critical shortage of trained doctors, inadequate facilities, and high out-of-pocket costs, compelling many villagers to rely on unqualified informal providers. This combination of limited access and poor quality leads to delayed or forgone treatment and poorer health outcomes for the majority of the population.Hope Arises Schools organize twice a year Community Health Care days for the students, their siblings and their mothers. Medical doctors examine the patients, provides health education and over the counter medication.

Community outreach

Hope Arises Schools are catalysts for good in their communities.
Intensifying typhoons, exacerbated by climate change, are a major threat to fresh water in coastal regions by driving storm surges that quickly salinate surface water and shallow aquifers. To combat this, communities urgently need to invest in drilling deeper, properly cased groundwater wells to access more resilient freshwater layers. This shift to protected, deeper groundwater is a critical climate adaptation measure for securing safe drinking water for vulnerable populations.
